Researchers may submit sound scientific proposals to request access to biological material from the ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation Biobank. The Study or Trial Steering Committees, and the Translational Research Working Group (Thoracic Cancer) serve as advisory committees to the ETOP IBCSG Partner Foundation Board on the scientific value and the priority of research projects and the proper use of the biological material for translational research, to ensure that the proposals address fundamental and relevant biological questions.

It is also our aim to support initiatives of the principal investigators within the ETOP IBCSG Partners community. We invite you to approach us with your idea for a clinical research project by sending us an outline of the trial concept. Please note that statistical considerations, budget setup and contacts with pharmaceutical companies are responsibilities of ETOP IBCSG Partners and are not part of the initial proposal.
Your brief outline should include:

- Short rationale
- Primary and secondary objectives
- Most important inclusion and exclusion criteria

The Independent Data Monitoring Committee Thoracic (ETOP IDMC) is a standing committee of independent experts including oncologists, a radiotherapist, a statistician and an ethical expert. Its role is the systematic review of the accumulating data from all ongoing lung cancer trials, sponsored by ETOP IBCSG Partners Foundation. The primary mandate of the ETOP IDMC is to safeguard the interest and safety of the patients in the trial and to ensure the scientific integrity of the trial.
